“Today, my dreams are coming true. I have reestablished our family business by setting up a BhelPuri Stall in the local market. Now, I am earning between Rs. 2500 – Rs. 3500 every day and able to take care of my family with dignity.”

Ms. Pradnya lost her partner Mr. Kishor Bhalerao at the age of 35 in April 2021. Pradnya has 2 daughters, Sharvani, the elder one who is 11 years old and Shreya, the younger daughter is about 9 years old. Both the daughters are studying in Shree Swami Vivekananda Education Institute, a English Medium School at Loni Kalbhor village near Pune. Pradnya was working as domestic help and earning around Rs. 7000 in a month. It was a very tough time for her to manage her family needs. With limited earning and added family responsibility Pradnya was more worried about future of her daughters.

Then STAPI reached out to Pradnya and extended their support through project Phoneix to take care of her daughter’s school fees of Rs. 21000 annually. During regular interaction with STAPI team Pradnya informed about her wish to re-start the traditional family income generation activity of a BhelPuri Stall. Later, with support of STAPI in October 2022 during Navratri she started a BhelPuri Stall in the local market. Now, she is earning between Rs. 2500 – Rs. 3500 every day and able to take care of her family with dignity.
